Check out the new story that has been added to the "Share Your Story!" page.  A great tribute to Ring of Honor inductee George Connor and a reminder about the "greatest football game ever played."

2 great events you shouldn't miss!

Attention HC football fans!  There are two great events coming up that I wanted remind everyone about.  If you live in the area, please try to come out to one (or both!) of the events.

First up...the spring football game!  Here is the information from HCGLC chairman Larry Doyle:

1.Spring Football Game on Saturday April 16th.
Major high five to Dan Adams '07 for his tireless efforts in rallying the troops for the upcoming Alumni football game as part of the spring football game on Saturday April 16th. Dan's enthusiasm and leadership are infectious and deeply appreciated by yours truly and all members of the HCGLC. Please make every effort to get back to campus to take in the spring game, catch up with friends, and get a sneak peek at the 2011 Crusader gridiron contingent. If you want to play, Dan can be reached at either:  daniel.adams@sunlife.comusafootball43@gmail.com,

Following the game, the cookout is always a great take. For those mentoring a current Crusader, this day presents a fabulous opportunity to catch up with your student-athlete and further build a rapport and relationship which will change lives on both ends. OurHCGLC 90-Wide Mentoring Program now encompasses 120 alums. GREAT JOB, gentlemen!!

During the cookout, the HCGLC will once again present the Jackie Mo' Lifetime Achievement Award. This year the HCGLC is extremely pleased to present this award posthumously to the man, the myth, the legend, the one and only former trainer for HC Athletics Jack "Skitchie" Scott. In short, as some have said, we may not have been blessed with Jackie Mo's presence atop Mt. St. James if Skitchie were not there first. Embrace the tradition!!

Post cookout festivities will take place as well. Will confirm and make sure the name of the fine local watering hole is properly disseminated. We can toast Jack and Jackie more than once.

Second up...the Holy Cross Football golf outing!  Again, here are the details from our friend Larry Doyle.

2. Holy Cross Football Annual Golf Outing
Friday, June 3rd
Blackstone National Golf Club
Sutton, MA
Shotgun start in the AM (Believe it is 9am) followed by lunch and awards. Will confirm the time and make sure more details are sent out in the coming weeks. This Friday June 3rd is the beginning of Reunion weekend. For those in reunion years, come back early and get your weekend started on the right note.
$250 per person includes range, golf, cart, lunch, and the company of a hundred plus of your closest friends. $200 per person for those out in the last 10 years.
To save headaches the day of the outing, I believe it is best that we make this a pay in advance. I will check with the person who really runs HC Football, that being LuAnn Hennessy, and let you know how this will work. For now, BLOCK THAT DATE and get your boys and girls rounded up for a day of fun both on the links and at the 19th hole.

Thanks again to Larry for passing along the details about these great events.  I know we all have busy schedules, but attending one of these events is a great way to show your support to for HC football.  Please try and make it out!

Finally, a big THANK YOU for everyone who has visited this website and/or passed along feedback.  Keep the comments coming!  If you are a Facebook or Twitter person, please don't forget to follow us on these sites.  Also, if you would like to get updates just by email, please email us at fillfittonfield@gmail.com and we will add you to our email list!

Welcome to FillFittonField.com!

Thank you for visiting this website.  If you haven't done so already, please take a look around.  A few pages (Tickets, and Game Day) are blank for now, but will be updated in the upcoming weeks.  I strongly encourage you to 1) go to the Get Updates page and sign up for our email distribution list, 2) check us out on Facebook and Twitter and 3) sign the Guestbook and let everyone know you're coming to the game!

We are less than 5 months away from the big game.  I know when we look at the calendar, many of us have not already made plans for Labor Day weekend.  Why not get out the red marker right now and put a big circle around Thursday, September 1st?  Then start telling your friends, family, and neighbors that you are going to kick off the holiday weekend early by heading out to Fitton Field that Thursday night to celebrate history and watch HC battle UMASS!
